Dipinge principalmente opere astratte ad acquerello, ma si rivolge anche alla pittura figurativa.

I colori nei dipinti di Pjotrs KIRJUSA sembrano sbiaditi, come su affreschi offuscati dal tempo, come i soggetti più ordinari delle sue tele, che ricordano coloristicamente l’arte monumentale delle epoche passate, assumono un aspetto significativo.
Pjotrs KIRJUSA riesce a bilanciarsi in modo sorprendente sull’orlo della pittura figurativa e astratta: oggetti ben precisi nella sua immagine appaiono sottilmente “distaccati” (usando il termine della scuola formale).
“La mia ispirazione principale è sempre la pittura.
Non solo nel senso tradizionale di “olio su tela”, un dipinto può essere un oggetto, una danza, una fotografia, un video o un post su i reti sociali.
Penso che tutto sia già stato fatto in pittura negli ultimi duemila anni, e sto ancora cercando di trovare qualcosa di nuovo.”

Brief Biographie
Born in 1978 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), moved to Riga (Latvia) with parents in 1980.
Living in Moscow since 1997.
2005 – Graduated from the Higher Academic School of Graphic Design, workshop by Boris Trofimov.
2012 – Graduated The Institute of Contemporary Art (Moscow).
Today, living between two cities – Riga and Moscow.
